objection
I have a testimony
Objection
I prayed and received a testimony.
What is true
Spiritual experiences can be powerful and sincere.
Why it is not enough
Scripture commands believers to test spirits. A testimony cannot overturn the apostolic doctrine of God and Christ.
Key question: Does testimony stand under Scripture, or does it redefine Scripture?
Experience is not being mocked
A testimony can be emotionally serious and life-shaping. The point is not to treat every spiritual experience as fake or foolish.
The point is that Scripture does not let spiritual experience become the final authority. Believers are told to test spirits, examine claims, and reject another gospel.
Many religions have sincere witnesses
Sincerity alone cannot identify which message is true. People in many religious communities report powerful confirmation, moral transformation, and answered prayer.
That is why the test must be public and doctrinal: does the message preserve the apostolic teaching about God, Christ, salvation, and authority?
